Myth: Japanese crane sometimes called red-crowned crane, or the Manchurian crane, are said to live for 1,000 years. Cranes are said to grant favours in return for acts of sacrifice. Sometimes cranes can be seen on ancient Samurai crests, it is said by the Samurai that the qualities of the crane are: it mates for life, representing loyalty, it flies high for miles without tiring, representing strength and determination, and the white of the crane is said to represents purity and peace.
